According to Scipio the Times of India is reporting that preparations are complete for a U.S. invasion of Iran.

Ugh said...: Honestly, I hope this is not true. Nothing good will come of it. Our tactics should be to foment discontent and allow the youth of that nation to bring down the theocracy. The US invading unilaterally will only unite 60 million Iranians, a billion other Muslims, and the remainder of the western world against us.

We should, by all means blast the bastards as they cross into Iraq to stir up trouble. No mercy. But an invasion with our overextended and weary military will be a disaster in more ways than one.; 2:20 PM

If we were planning to invade, we needed to seriously beef up our military. This is going to require a WWII type committment from the U.S., and I doubt that, given the current political division, we could mount and sustain such an effort.

I`ve always advocated a Contra solution; arm enemies of the regime and create a revolution. I don`t know if time is on our side.

We`ve piddled too long trying to create a stable democracy in Iraq. If we were going to do such a thing it should have happened when we initially invaded. We should have sent our troops into Iraq through Syria and cleaned out the whole rotten Baathist system. We didn`t, and now we`ll pay the price for our mistakes.
